During my trip to Prince Edward Island I got to take a tour of a victorian house that my family had rented while they were in Summerside. This house was beautiful. Warm and inviting, quirky and full of charm. The owners did everything right.
As you enter the house an original knocker is on the door.
In the living room the original fire place with tile and wood work is as it should be. Timeless. If you have a fireplace that’s original to the house – leave it alone!
As you move through the house you can see where they’ve kept the old and introduced some more modern upgrades. The kitchen was up to date with a large island and a pass through to the sunroom leading to the large outdoor porch.
The dining room has wood beams and antique dining furniture that adds just the right amount of warmth.
The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms plus a finished attic with it’s own staircase. To me the attic is probably the most amazing room in the house. I’m sure that’s where I would be all the time. Perfect for an art studio or secret library. Currently it’s being used as a 5th bedroom.
Being a lover of old charm and century homes it was so much fun seeing this house. I may be a bit jealous of my family who got to stay in it for the week. Not to mention the view from the yard…
Not to shabby!
